On Wednesday, Bryson went for his 2 month well visit.
He is in the 57th % for weight at 12 lbs. 9 oz. & the 19th % for height at 22 1/2 inches. (short like his mom)
During being looked over by his doctor, she told me that she wanted me to take him over to
Children's Hospital Close to Home to get a chest x-ray and an EKG!
She said that his heart rate and respirations were a little higher than what they should be but tried to reassure me (which didn't work) that it was just a precaution and she was sure he was fine. She said he was happy and active and gaining weight just like he should be but she would sleep better at night knowing for sure that he was okay.
Of course, my mind went to the worst possible place! I immediately started to cry but tried to keep it together so that Bryson would stay calm... he still had to get his shots. And this had to happen not only on the first visit I went to alone but when Jeff was on afternoons, worst shift to be on because he is the only radiologist in house and he couldn't leave!
Thankfully, my friend Autumm dropped what she was doing and met me at the hospital because I knew I would need the support!
My sweet boy did so great during his EKG. He smiled and cooed the whole time at the tech and he even batted a few eyelashes! Yes, he is already a little flirt and I am sure he is going to break many hearts in his future!
But the chest x-ray was a different story! All I can say that it was AWFUL... he cried so hard!!!
I am sure he will have no memory of it, but I will never forget it!
After the tests were completed, I calmed him down and we were told to go wait in the waiting room until we had a preliminary result! It only took about 20 minutes and Bryson's doctor called me to tell me that the prelims were negative and she would call me once the final results came in! I, of course, took a copy of the chest x-ray down to Jeff for him to look at and he said that it looked completely normal.
And FINALLY, today the doctor called to tell me that all of the final reports had come back and that they were COMPLETELY NORMAL! She said I have a very happy and healthy 2 month old!
PRAISE THE LORD!!!!!
Whew... Glad everything is OK! That would have made me a nervous wreck. It's not fun seeing your little one go through testing like that. Keira had to go through a lot of stuff because of her slow weight gain. It's the worst seeing them scream and cry when they are so little. Poor little Bryson... he's a tough little guy. So cute too! :)
ReplyDeleteWow, so glad everything is fine. I can only imagine how scared you were!
ReplyDeleteWhat a scary experience, but I'm glad you got good news. Snuggles for Bryson!
